A Childhood Dream of Ranch Living Comes True

In need of a larger home to fit their growing family, Mark and Nicole turned to Clayton Homes to build their dream home. The New Braunfels team worked quickly to have a home ready for the family before the birth of their daughter.

After a childhood of suburban living due to his father’s career, Mark Undeutsch longed to escape to the countrysides of Texas. Mark spent a few summers on Texas farms working, which all the more confirmed his plans to live there one day. As soon as he graduated from college, Mark started searching for a home in Texas. The stars aligned, and Mark purchased his first home in Kingsbury, TX, an old farmhouse with 36 acres of land to go with it.

The old farmhouse housed Mark, his girlfriend Nicole, and his parents, Robert and Virginia for several years, but that quickly needed to change when a big surprise came their way. Mark and Nicole realized they were expecting a baby! In need of a larger space to grow and raise their family, Mark and Nicole began looking for a home to put on Mark’s land.

After asking friends for advice, they were told to check out Clayton Homes of New Braunfels. There, they were helped by Brock, a home consultant for the home center. They toured several homes and asked Brock many questions about the various models, but, ultimately, they decided on the Cabin model.

“Growing up around rural areas, I was familiar with manufactured housing,” Mark said, “But they are not like anything I remember growing up. They have changed so much.”

Despite having their perfect home picked out, the Undeutsches and the Clayton team still had a lot of work to do, and a tight deadline to finish it by. With a baby on the way, Clayton Homes wanted to ensure that Mark and Nicole would have a home ready to bring their baby home to. With just enough time, the team prepared the house for move-in, and the next day baby Carter was born.
